Softball Recap: Madison County Comes Up Short

Madison County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Flowery Branch Falcons. The Red Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Madison County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Flowery Branch, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

Coming up, Madison County will head out to take on Stephens County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Flowery Branch, they will face off against Hebron Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
