Baseball Recap: Wilcox County Finds Playoff Glory Versus Baconton Charter

With a playoff win on the line, Wilcox County rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Baconton Charter Blazers a 3-0 shutout. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Blazers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Baconton Charter's batters probably weren't too happy with Johnny Nutt, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 19 Ks (he gave up a single walk). Nutt has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wilcox County's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Talon McKinney, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
