Baseball Game Preview: Columbus Blue Devils vs. Jordan Red Jackets

Columbus is a perfect 6-0 against Jordan since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will welcome the Red Jackets at 5:30 p.m. Columbus is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

On Friday, Columbus beat Shaw 6-1.

Michael Nottleman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 18 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Columbus is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-5 otherwise. Nottleman was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.

Nottleman wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Colton Hefner, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Jordan's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 15-1 to Taylor County.

Brody Catlin was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Jordan's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Columbus, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Columbus skirted past Jordan 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Jackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
