Basketball Recap: Edison's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Edison needed a changed in momentum after dropping six straight games and they got it from Paige Hamilton. The Edison Tigers snuck past the Corcoran Panthers with a 54-49 win on Saturday thanks in part to Hamilton, who posted 26 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Scott, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points gave her a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Corcoran lost, don't look at Natalie Luna. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine assists. Another player making a difference was Zoee Cabral, who put up 14 points.

Edison's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Corcoran, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Edison Tigers face off against the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Corcoran, they will venture away from home to square off against Orange Cove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
