Softball Recap: Middle Park Wins Going Away Against Lincoln

Middle Park's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Lincoln Lancers 18-1. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Sydney Solomon made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Solomon was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Rebecca Dugwyler was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Dylan McGuan was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Middle Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .880. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Middle Park moved to 4-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Lincoln, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Middle Park beat the Lancers by a score of 20-7 later that day.
