Basketball Game Preview: St. Michael the Archangel Warriors vs. Guardian Christian Academy Royal Knights

The St. Michael the Archangel Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Guardian Christian Academy Royal Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

St. Michael the Archangel is coming into the matchup on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Grace Christian School 33-30.

Janaye Martinez was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more boards the last 37 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jennifer Love-Villatoro, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Guardian Christian Academy put another one in the bag last Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They skirted past St. Michael the Archangel 31-28.

St. Michael the Archangel is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.5 points per game. As for Guardian Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

St. Michael the Archangel couldn't quite finish off Guardian Christian Academy in their previous matchup last Monday and fell 31-28. Can St. Michael the Archangel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
