Basketball Game Preview: St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors vs. St. Genevieve Valiants

The St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors will square off against the St. Genevieve Valiants at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy sitting on three straight victories and St. Genevieve on four.

Last Thursday, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy humbled Pomona Catholic with a 62-7 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, St. Genevieve beat Mary Star of the Sea 41-31 on Thursday.

St. Genevieve pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.8 points per game. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy took their win against St. Genevieve in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 57-36. Will St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy repeat their success, or does St. Genevieve have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
