Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Cooper Eveslage and Gabriel Shimanski Lead Mayer Lutheran to Victory

The Mayer Lutheran Crusaders made easy work of the Martin County West Mavericks on Friday and carried off a 26-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Leading Mayer Lutheran to victory were Gabriel Shimanski and Cooper Eveslage. Shimanski rushed for 100 yards and one TD on only five carries, while Eveslage gained 105 total yards and three touchdowns. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 59 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mayer Lutheran was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Mayer Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Martin County West, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
