Baseball Recap: Northside Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

Northside hadn't done well against Starr's Mill recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Northside skirted past Starr's Mill 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since February 13th.

Ashton Bailey looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Northside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Laney, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Northside's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Starr's Mill, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside will host Glenwood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Glenwood will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Northside surely won't give up without a fight. As for Starr's Mill, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Central at 6:00 p.m. Starr's Mill is facing Central at the right time seeing as Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
