Soccer Game Preview: Santa Clara vs. Mountain View

Santa Clara is 1-8-1 against Mountain View since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Santa Clara Bruins will face off against the Mountain View Spartans at 9:45 a.m. Santa Clara is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.

Santa Clara gave up the first goal last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won by a goal and slipped past Christopher 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bruins.

They hit Christopher with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Reiko Yoshimura, Kalliana Flora, and Rylee Alas.

Meanwhile, Mountain View's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Thursday. They fell just short of Sequoia by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Spartans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Santa Clara's win bumped their record up to 2-0-2. As for Mountain View, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Santa Clara came up short against Mountain View in their previous matchup back in February, falling 2-0. Can Santa Clara avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
