Softball Recap: ThunderRidge Comes Up Short

After flying high against Douglas County last Wednesday, ThunderRidge came back down to earth. The Grizzlies fell just short of the Rock Canyon Jaguars by a score of 11-10 on Monday. The Grizzlies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Samantha Oliver stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Conant, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

ThunderRidge has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Rock Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. ThunderRidge will challenge rival Highlands Ranch at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Rock Canyon is set to face off against their familiar foe Douglas County at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
