Basketball Recap: Frankton Eagles vs. Mississinewa Indians
After flying high against Blackford last Friday, Frankton came back down to earth. The Frankton Eagles took a 45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mississinewa Indians on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.
Frankton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macy Curtis, who posted nine points along with eight boards and four blocks. Sophia Hoagland was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.
Mississinewa was led to victory by Brooklynn Nash and Jaci Crick. Nash went 5 for 11 on her way to 13 points and three steals, while Crick went 5 of 10 en route to 15 points and five boards. Nash has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Baker, who scored seven points.
Frankton's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Mississinewa, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 10-12.
Frankton has already played their next game, a 53-25 victory against Elwood on the 31st. Mississinewa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
