Soccer Recap: Orange Lutheran Takes a Loss

Orange Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Santa Margarita Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Eagles are ranked first).

Orange Lutheran's goal came courtesy of Lauren Wood, which was the first she's scored this season.

Orange Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 5-3-1. As for Santa Margarita, they pushed their record up to 11-0-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Orange Lutheran will square off against Mater Dei on Tuesday. Mater Dei's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Santa Margarita, they will take on JSerra Catholic at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. JSerra Catholic will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Santa Margarita surely won't give up without a fight.
