Football Recap: Snow Canyon Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Crimson Cliffs

Snow Canyon faced Crimson Cliffs in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Warriors fell 28-21 to the Mustangs. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Snow Canyon lost, don't look at Parker Olson. Despite the final result, he threw for 297 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 40 yards.

Even if they lost, Snow Canyon's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Trey Vaughn was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Caleb Greenwood was another major factor on D, making seven total tackles (3.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Briton Phillips had a dynamite game For Crimson Cliffs., picking up 122 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Tanoai Andresen, who threw for 177 yards and three TDs on only 14 passes.

Snow Canyon's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Crimson Cliffs, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.
