Softball Recap: North Platte Has No Trouble Against Lincoln Southeast

North Platte's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Lincoln Southeast Knights with a sharp 8-2 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Katie Titus made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lauren Bowers, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Danaka Jedrzejczyk was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

North Platte's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-9. As for Lincoln Southeast, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North Platte beat the Knights by a score of 11-5 later that day.
