Volleyball Recap: Bruton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Bruton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the New Kent Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Bruton took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-18, 25-23.

Addison Newman paced Bruton's offense, picking up nine kills. Newman got some help from Annalise Wood and her 18 assists. Wood was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Bruton's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for New Kent, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Bruton will square off against rival Grafton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, New Kent is set to challenge their familiar foe Warhill at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
