Basketball Recap: Central Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Central needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Sofia Meer. The Central Lancers walked away with a 52-44 victory over Carver High School of Engineering & Science on Monday thanks in part to Meer, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 boards. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

The team also got some help courtesy of Senya Gaines-Ditto, who posted nine points and four steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January.

Several Carver High School of Engineering & Science players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isabella Brown, who put up 14 points. Another player making a difference was Savannah Hall, who had 11 points.

Central's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Carver High School of Engineering & Science, their record is now 2-4.

Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-41 loss against Freire Charter on the 18th. As for Carver High School of Engineering & Science, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 43-35 victory against Masterman on the 18th.
