Soccer Game Preview: University vs. Laguna Beach

The University Trojans will face off against the Laguna Beach Breakers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Laguna Beach will have to contend with a University team hungry for a victory, something the squad hasn't seen since December 13. University fell just short of Portola by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 519th, while Portola are ranked 119th).

Laguna Beach, on the other hand, haven't lost since December 9, 2025 and they too continued that trend. They skirted past Woodbridge 2-1. Laguna Beach haven't had any issues with Woodbridge recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Caroline Talarico was the driving force of Laguna Beach's attack as she scored both of Laguna Beach's goals, bringing her season total up to three goals.

Laguna Beach's victory bumped their record up to 6-1-2. As for University, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-4.
