Football Game Preview: Questa Wildcats vs. Fort Sumner/House

Questa hasn't had much luck against Fort Sumner/House recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will square off against Fort Sumner/House at 7:00 p.m. Questa's defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so Fort Sumner/House's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Questa is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Escalante, who was ranked ninth at the time (Questa was ranked 20th). The Wildcats took a blow against the Lobos on Saturday, falling 46-12. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Fort Sumner/House never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 50-0 win over Menaul. The result was nothing new for Fort Sumner/House, who have now won three games by 50 points or more so far this season.

The victory keeps Fort Sumner/House at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.5 points on average this season. As for Questa, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Questa was dealt a bruising 54-0 loss at the hands of Fort Sumner/House in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Fort Sumner/House's Jordan Holland, who rushed for 94 yards and three scores on only eight carries, and also threw for 138 yards and four TDs on only 11 passes.
