Birmingham extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They came up short against the Calabasas Coyotes, falling 49-28. The Patriots were not able to make up for their loss to the Coyotes from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Birmingham's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Braylen Morgan, who rushed for 146 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and Kevin Hawkins, who rushed for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries. Hawkins' longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

As for Calabasas, their win bumped their record up to 3-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Dominik Hardy had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 300 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. What's more, he racked up 140 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Calabasas also got a significant boost from Kayne Miller, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 87 yards.

Birmingham has already played their next matchup, a 44-8 victory against Harvard-Westlake on the 27th. As for Calabasas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 48-21 loss against Los Alamitos on the 26th.
