Soccer Game Preview: Pace Academy vs. Starr's Mill

The Pace Academy Knights will square off against the Starr's Mill Panthers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Pace Academy's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 9-0 margin over Forest Park. The Knights' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Starr's Mill duked it out with Harris County on Tuesday. Starr's Mill beat Harris County by a goal, winning 2-1. Morgan Williams had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble the Panthers got from the refs.

Williams was the driving force of Starr's Mill's attack as he scored both of Starr's Mill's goals, bringing his season total up to six goals.

Pace Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those four matchups. As for Starr's Mill, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Pace Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Starr's Mill when the teams last played back in March of 2022, winning 2-0. Will Pace Academy repeat their success, or does Starr's Mill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
