Baseball Recap: Centennial Wins Going Away Against Marion County

Centennial's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Marion County Eagles 13-3. The high-scoring effort was just what the Knights needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

Brad Foust tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and only a hit while striking out six over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Jake Hickox was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carlos Marquez, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

The victory got Centennial back to even at 1-1. As for Marion County, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Centennial will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Ringgold at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marion County, they will face off against Harris County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
