Softball Game Preview: Columbus Wildcats vs. WACO Warriors

The Columbus Wildcats will challenge the WACO Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Columbus nor WACO posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Columbus and Wapello meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Indians by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, WACO was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 15-0 to Danville.

WACO's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Columbus, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Columbus took their victory against WACO in their previous meeting back in May by a conclusive 13-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
