Softball Recap: Bulloch Academy Gators vs. Tattnall Square Academy Trojans

Bulloch Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-4. They came up short against the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-0 last Saturday.

As for Tattnall Square Academy, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games.

For Tattnall Square Academy's part, Bryton Tarver was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Tarver posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in September of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Madison Malcom and Reese Covington did most of the damage at the plate: Malcom got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Covington went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kiley Kate Hodgin, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Coincidentally, Bulloch Academy and Tattnall Square Academy will both be playing George Walton Academy the next time they take the field. The Trojans will host the Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Gators will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
