Football Game Preview: Plano Wildcats vs. Coppell Cowboys + How To Watch

Plano is 0-4 against Coppell since October of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Plano comes in on three and Coppell on five.

Last Friday, Plano didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Rock Hill, but they still walked away with a 21-16 win.

Plano's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Chance Culley, who rushed for 131 yards and one TD, and Kaedyn Brown, who gained 33 total yards. What's more, Brown racked up 29 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in August.

Plano didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Rock Hill to a completion percentage of just 42.3%. The Wildcats hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.3 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Coppell made easy work of Marcus on Thursday and carried off a 38-13 victory. The Cowboys might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 21 points or more this season.

Plano better focus on containing Carter Zingelmann and Jayden George as the pair were huge in Coppell's win. Zingelmann rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown, while George rushed for 132 yards and a pair of scores. Jackson Echols did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards.

Coppell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dristant Chaudhary and Daylon Montgomery. Braylon Powell was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making five total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Plano's record now sits at 7-3. As for Coppell, their record is now 8-1.

Plano was dealt a bruising 44-0 loss at the hands of Coppell in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Thankfully for the Wildcats, Edward Griffin (who threw for 249 yards and four TDs) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
