Softball Recap: Waverly Beats Bennington for Their Third Straight Victory

Waverly had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Bennington Badgers as they made off with an 11-2 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-3 back in September.

Luci Thieman looked comfortable as she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Reegan McCall, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Hailey Recker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Waverly was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. They are 11-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Waverly's record now sits at 18-10. As for Bennington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14.

As of now, neither Waverly nor the Badgers have any future games scheduled.
