Royalton had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They secured a 26-20 W over the Kimball Cubs. The win was all the more spectacular given the Royals' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Cubs are ranked 44th).

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Royalton will take on Holdingford at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Kimball, they will face off against Paynesville at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
