Westlake had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Steele Knights with a sharp 37-14 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chaparrals also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Westlake's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Steele, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.

Westlake will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Akins at 7:30 p.m. on October 2. As for Steele, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clemens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
