Baseball Recap: Trinity Prep Comes Up Short

Trinity Prep scored the most runs they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Hearts Academy Panthers, falling 18-9. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 back in February.

Levi Barrelle made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Jerrin Mitchell, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Trinity Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hearts Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Coming up, Trinity Prep will take on Monsignor Donovan Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hearts Academy, they will be playing at home against Praise Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
