Baseball Recap: Northbridge Rams vs. Nipmuc Regional Warriors
Northbridge had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 4-10 to make it nine. They lost 11-5 to the Nipmuc Regional Warriors. If the Rams were looking for revenge after losing 6-0 to the Warriors when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Nipmuc Regional, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.
For Nipmuc Regional's part, the team relied heavily on Gavin Metcalf, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Metcalf has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Burchard, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Coming up, Northbridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount St. Charles Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nipmuc Regional, they are taking a road trip to challenge Advanced Math & Science Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
