Basketball Recap: Kearny Comes Up Short

Kearny lost against Canyon Hills back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Kearny Komets fell 52-41 to the Canyon Hills Rattlers. The Komets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Canyon Hills' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Wilson, who went 5 for 9 to rack up 14 points. What's more, Wilson also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Anayla Saulo was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Kearny now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Canyon Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Coming up, Kearny will head out to take on Clairemont at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Canyon Hills, they will be playing at home against Canyon Crest Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Canyon Hills is facing Canyon Crest Academy at the right time seeing as Canyon Crest Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
