Basketball Recap: Monte Vista Christian Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Monte Vista Christian had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it four. They had to suffer through a 61-25 loss at the hands of the Stevenson Pirates. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-13.

Despite the defeat, Monte Vista Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Hope Fromm shot 44% from the field to rack up 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fromm has scored all season.

As for Stevenson, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 59.5 points this season.

Stevenson found their leader in freshman Kamora Winfield, who went 6-for-7 on her way to 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Kobie Crutcher was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Monte Vista Christian has already played their next contest, a 79-37 loss against King City on the 6th. As for Stevenson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-6 victory against Gilroy on the 6th.
