Frontier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 23-12 to the Fort Frye Cadets. Even though they lost, the Cougars' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Austyn Kephart stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Davyn Ferrell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Frontier's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Fort Frye, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.
Frontier will take on River in a tournament on Wednesday. Fort Frye does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
