Football Recap: Sacopee Valley Drops Season-High Score on Cape Elizabeth

Sacopee Valley scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They received a blow as they fell 60-42 to the Cape Elizabeth Capers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (34), the Hawks still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Sacopee Valley lost, don't look at Maxwell Tripp. Despite the final result, he rushed for 299 yards and six scores while picking up 12.5 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Tripp is now averaging an impressive 147.5 rushing yards per game.

Sacopee Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Cape Elizabeth, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coming up, Sacopee Valley will welcome Old Orchard Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Seagulls' defense has only allowed 9.5 points per game this season, so the Hawks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Cape Elizabeth, they will square off against Camden Hills at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
