Football Recap: Pine Lake Prep Pride vs. Christ the King Crusaders
Pine Lake Prep had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it four. They were dealt a 41-14 loss at the hands of the Christ the King Crusaders. The Pride lost against the Crusaders in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 25-20 score last time.
Although Pine Lake Prep took the loss, they still got scores from Brody Perley and Reid Tammaro.
As for Christ the King, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 21 points in those games.
Christ the King got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carter Stevens out in front who picked up 103 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also punched in one rushing score. Stevens got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 80 yards. Another back making a difference was Brennen Wallace, who rushed for 168 yards while picking up 10.5 yards per carry.
Coming up, Pine Lake Prep will host Lincoln Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pride will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.88 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Christ the King, they will head out to take on Corvian Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' defense has only allowed 10.6 points per game this season, so the Crusaders' offense will have their work cut out for them.
