Basketball Recap: St. Bernard Comes Up Short

St. Bernard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 32-16 fall against the Mary Star of the Sea Stars. The Vikings were probably out for revenge after losing 57-40 to them when the teams met back in January of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Haiden Alexander was St. Bernard's leading scorer, having posted six points.

St. Bernard's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Mary Star of the Sea, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Bernard will square off against Pomona Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Bernard is facing Pomona Catholic at the right time seeing as Pomona Catholic is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Mary Star of the Sea, they will face off against San Gabriel Mission at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for San Gabriel Mission: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Mary Star of the Sea has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
