Baseball Recap: Lakeview Academy Takes a Loss

Lakeview Academy had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 14-11 to make it four. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the George Walton Academy Bulldogs. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Beau Day was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Lakeview Academy is 6-1 when Day posts two or more runs, but 8-10 otherwise.

As for George Walton Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-18 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.

On George Walton Academy's side, Brock Lowe was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs. Those three runs gave Lowe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braden Callaway, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lakeview Academy will take on rival Athens Christian at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, George Walton Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Loganville Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
