Softball Recap: Dakota Ridge Falls Short Against Ranked Frederick

Dakota Ridge faced Frederick in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 9-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 16-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Madison Drake was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Collins, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Dakota Ridge now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Frederick, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Dakota Ridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-8 win against Loveland on the 23rd. As for Frederick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 13-1 victory against Falcon on the 23rd.
