Softball Recap: Nebraska City Finds Home Field Redemption Against Syracuse

There's no place like home for Nebraska City, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past the Syracuse Rockets 14-6 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Pioneers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Rylie Beethe was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Reesyn Becker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Nebraska City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Nebraska City is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Syracuse, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nebraska City will venture away from home to face off against Platteview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Syracuse, they will head out to challenge Centennial on Thursday.
