Arvin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Roxana Fernandez led the charge by scoring 13 points along with seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Soto, who scored 12 points.
Mira Monte's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.5 points per game. As for Arvin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mira Monte will challenge Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Arvin, they will head out on the road to square off against Tehachapi at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
