Mira Mesa's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They skirted past Kearny 1-0. The Marauders' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last seven contests.

Meanwhile, Madison's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Canyon Hills. The defeat continues a trend for the Warhawks in their matchups with the Rattlers : they've now lost six in a row.

Mira Mesa pushed their record up to 13-1-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four games. As for Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Everything went Mira Mesa's way against Madison in their previous meeting back in January, as Mira Mesa made off with a 4-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mira Mesa since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
