Softball Recap: Cheyenne Mountain Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Cheyenne Mountain won the last time they faced Air Academy and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Red-Tailed Hawks walked away with a 17-14 win over the Kadets.

Corrine Harlow was a standout: she fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August. Michaela (MJ) Ewen also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Cheyenne Mountain lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Cheyenne Mountain's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Air Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-4-1 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cheyenne Mountain will square off against Discovery Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red-Tailed Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunder have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Air Academy, they will challenge Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
