Softball Recap: Northglenn Has No Trouble Against Overland

Northglenn won the last time they faced Overland and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Norsemen were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Trailblazers. The result was nothing new for the Norsemen, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Jena Apodaca spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks.

Northglenn is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Overland, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Northglenn will square off against Prairie View at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Overland, they will challenge Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Commanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.17 runs per game on average), something the Trailblazers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
