Dexter had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Penquis Valley Patriots as they made off with a 26-1 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 12 runs or more this season.

Colin Mountain and Liam Saunders were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Mountain pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Saunders pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Mountain got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Saunders went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Gabe Cupero was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Noah Kain was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Dexter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .612. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dexter's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Penquis Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Coming up, Dexter will host Maine Central Institute at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.61 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Penquis Valley, they will venture away from home to challenge Schenck at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
