Baseball Recap: Walker Comes Up Short

Walker came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Whitefield Academy WolfPack, falling 9-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolverines have suffered since May 6, 2024.

Walker saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Griggs, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

With the loss, Walker broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Whitefield Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Walker will challenge Landmark Christian at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday. As for Whitefield Academy, they will take on Mount Paran Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
