Soccer Game Preview: Christopher vs. Live Oak

The Christopher Cougars will take on the Live Oak Acorns at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Christopher's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Christopher fell victim to Silver Creek and their airtight defense on Thursday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Raiders are ranked 569th).

Meanwhile, Live Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against Santa Teresa, falling 9-3. The Acorns were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 6-1.

Christopher's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5-3. As for Live Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Everything went Christopher's way against Live Oak when the teams last played back in January, as Christopher made off with a 4-0 win. Does Christopher have another victory up their sleeve, or will Live Oak turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
