Softball Recap: Palmer Ridge Find Success

Palmer Ridge had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Lewis-Palmer on Monday. The Bears' pitcher stepped up to hand the Rangers a 16-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now won five in a row.

Elizabeth Cook was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emilia Romero, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Palmer Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lewis-Palmer only managed four hits.

Palmer Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Lewis-Palmer, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Coming up, Palmer Ridge will challenge Falcon at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lewis-Palmer, they will take on Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rangers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
