Baseball Recap: Jenkins Wins Going Away Against Groves

Jenkins won the last time they faced Groves and things went their way on Thursday too. The Jenkins Warriors put the hurt on the Groves Rebels with a sharp 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on DJ Rohan, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson McKenzie, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Jenkins and bumps their season record up to 6-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Groves, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Jenkins beat Groves by a score of 17-3 later that day.
