Softball Recap: Hardaway Finds Home Field Redemption Against Kendrick

There's no place like home for Hardaway, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Kendrick Cherokees on Tuesday. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven runs or more this season.

Naryah Wilson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reyana Heard, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Shelby Huff, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Hardaway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .960. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hardaway has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Kendrick, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Hardaway will challenge Columbus at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Kendrick, they will take on Manchester at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
