Soccer Game Preview: Santa Ana vs. Calvary Chapel

The Santa Ana Saints will head out on the road to challenge the Calvary Chapel Eagles at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Santa Ana fell victim to Fullerton and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Indians are ranked 218th).

Meanwhile, Calvary Chapel came into Tuesday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let Westminster onto the board and left with a 2-0 win on Tuesday.

Santa Ana's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6-2. As for Calvary Chapel, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-9-1.

Everything went Santa Ana's way against Calvary Chapel in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Santa Ana made off with a 5-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Santa Ana since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
